Updated Cell Phone Policy

In an effort to promote appropriate use of technology while keeping the integrity of program instruction intact, the MASC cell phone policy will be amended to allow delegates to use their phones during designated times throughout the day. 

Delegates are permitted to use cell phones during break, lunch and during passing periods.  Delegates may not use their phones during instruction or meeting time. This means cell phones must be turned off or placed on silent and put away before entering the council room.  Also, phones may not be used outside of the council room during instruction time. For example, leaving for the restroom or any other location outside of the council room or other structured activity. We also ask that conversations on the phone in your dorm room be kept to a minimum. It is not fair or considerate to the roommate.

Counselors may permit use of cell phones for activities related to curriculum and will notify students when this type of use is authorized.

When a device is in use in the classroom, students WILL NOT:

• Answer an incoming SMS (text) message or phone call
• Be on any social media site (Facebook, Twitter, etc...)
• Access or play any game or access any entertainment site on their device
• Access or use any application (app) on their device unless expressly instructed to by the counselor
• Take any picture or video that the counselor has not expressly asked you to take

Due to the evolving nature of emerging technologies, additional rules and regulations may be added by program administrators throughout the year.

MASC staff will ask you to put your phone away once.  After a warning, MASC administrators will enforce the behavior policy accordingly.

Arrival Instructions

- Please plan on arriving at Worcester State between 12 noon and 1pm on July 7th.  We do not serve lunch on Monday, make sure you eat before you arrive.

- It is critical that you pack only what you can carry.  Our staff will not be able to assist you with a large move.

- When you arrive on campus, please head to the Wasylean Residence Hall Parking Lot (Building 13 on campus map).  Blue MASC directional signs will be placed on campus.

- Drivers, please stay in your car while our staff unloads all of the luggage.  After luggage and delegates are unloaded, drivers may park the vehicle in the multi-floor parking garage (Building 12 on campus map).  Parents are welcome to join their delegates after parking.

- Male Delegates- You will proceed with your luggage directly inside Wasylean Residence Hall (Building 13 on campus map) to register.  

- Female Delegates- You will proceed with your luggage to Sheehan Hall (Building 18 on campus map) to register.

- If you need to see the nurse, she will be located in the Seven Hills Conference Room which is inside of Wasylean Hall.

Delegates are to sleep in rooms to which they a have been assigned.  Visiting a room assigned to the opposite sex is not permitted.   What to Bring              Please see the enclosed packing list for specific items.  All delegates will be housed in a traditional college dorm.  You must supply all bed linens (sheets, pillows, blankets).  To foster a learning environment, all delegates will be required to wear shirts/tops which cover the shoulders and shorts are to be mid-length or longer. No spaghetti straps, tank tops or halter tops will be allowed.   College Store               The Worcester State store will be open throughout the week. This store operate on a cash basis.  You should also bring change for vending machines.   Refund Policy              All refunds must be in writing to the MSSAA Office in Franklin, MA and postmarked accordingly:                                       100% refund   June 1, 2014 or prior                                          75% refund     June 15, 2014 - June 2, 2014                                          50% refund     June 20, 2014 - June 16, 2014                                            0% refund       On June 20, 2014 or after   Questions/Changes    The MSSAA Office, at which the MASC is located, will be available for changes and questions until Monday, June 24, 2014, please contact Michele Blackburn at 508-541-7997. 2013 Summer Conference Updates

Hello MASC Summer Conference Delegates!

Here are some reminders to help make your experience as smooth and enjoyable as possible:

• If you have a balance, it should be brought to registration.
• Students MAY NOT drive themselves to the conference, you must be dropped off.
• If you have dietary concerns and would like to speak to the cafeteria at Worcester State, please email catering@worcester.edu or call 508-929-8657.
• All of your medical paperwork and consent forms were completed online. If you have additional information or questions for our nurse, you may email nurse@mastuco.net. Nurse Kelli will also be available for consultations during registration. You may also log back into Family ID and add information to your medical profile.
• Don't forget a fan. A box fan works great and they are cheap!
• Our registration process has been streamlined. If your balance is paid in full, you can anticipate a quick and easy registration.
• As a reminder, cell phone use is strictly regulated and enforced. The conference emergency cell phone # is (617) 943-8457 if your parents need to reach your son or daughter in an emergency. You can also email conference@mastuco.net for routine matters as it is checked often.
• Don't forget to pack a school pride shirt for our school pride day! You can even trade a shirt if you find one that you really like.
• Don't forget about the dress code, no spaghetti straps or short shorts! It is strictly enforced.
• Departure will be Friday, July 12th at 11:30am promptly. Parents, please plan on parking in the parking garage and meet your son or daughter at their dorm.

Arrival Instructions
